Happy Easter
Hi to all.
It's Wednesday night again. Hope everyone had a happy Easter. We didn't do much except sit and eat and play cards but we enjoyed it. Annie came out in her new car - which you've seen - hopefully she'll get home more often now. Our branch of the family actually did kindof a car sweep last month, Mom and Dad got one , Annie got hers and John got a used Buick to use for making calls (the van just looked odd for that purpose). We all met in Lincoln one night to take Mom out for her birthday and had a car viewing in the parking lot.
Chicago was wonderful. It's on my list of places to go back to (after New York, which I think I still like better). Didn't get a chance to wander much the first day, but after I got rolling, it was lots of fun. We stayed downtown, a few blocks away from what one clerk told me was "the biggest Borders in the country". Not sure of that but the check out line was about 25 people long all the time I was there. It paid to ask for strange books though, I ended up on third floor where I was the only one in that line. Was trying to scout independent bookstores but not enough time. It was foggy and rainy most of the weekend but still fun. I took off on my own on Sunday morning wanting to check out some of the buildings I could see from my hotel window and discovered I was only two blocks from the Newberry Library ( I AM going back there -- they have a mystery book fair in March -- 16th annual next year). It's probably a good thing I didn't discover it during a time it was open or I might still be there. The museums looked really neat too. We went to see Wicked the musical ( I did research by reading the book -- a weird book), very entertaining, and ate at a seafood restaurant, a really cool Italian place, the Drake Hotel post theatre, and oh boy, had a martini for lunch at this little bistro place. My first martini lunch. I think I had that just so I could say I had. The convention center was pretty impressive, and I did work on Friday and Saturday...
Mom's been keeping me on top of family health notes. She said Raymond and Janice and Rhonda stopped yesterday on their way back from Lincoln. I need to get some cards and notes sent...sounds like Uncle Don isn't doing real well and Sherry, I hope your Mom got some relief from her appointment this week. I keep telling Mom to keep walking and eat healthy, and try to practice what I preach. For the most part they're doing pretty good, but I can see them slowing down.
I enjoyed the photo of me. Not only did it make me smile, it made me laugh out loud. And yes, there did seem to be a bit of Grandma there. I liked that too.
Have had a few more people look at our house. I'm rooting for the one's who looked last Saturday. They seemed to appreciate the whole package (fruit bushes, willow tree, idiosynchratic (?) house, and multiple cats), they even asked variety names of the trees. They like rhubarb and gooseberries -- I hope they come through, I've been feeling kindof in limbo.
Better get home, more later and love to all, Suz
This silly thing won't post, it says exclamation marks aren't allowed...so I guess I'll go back and edit them out. I talk with lots of exclamation marks, so please imagine them while you're reading...

Oh Lord, Suzie, you're so right. Grandma's face just shines from yours. How wonderful!
