Hey Let's Blog!

Well, Gary here in PDX is the only one who's been trying to use the blog and I finally figured out why no one else may be signing up. The original invitation that I sent out seems a bit spam-like and everyone may have just deleted the original emails or it may have gone into your junk mail folder like the one I sent to myself. So here's how you can join in, if you're interested.

If you got the Blogger invitation, find it and follow the link that's in the invitation. If you can't hot link to it, copy the entire link and paste it into your browser's location bar and click, GO.

You'll end up in the Blogger.com site that says "Join a Blog." If you are already a Blogger user, sign in. If you have never used the Blogger site before (like most of us) then you will need to create an account. It's free and it's easy. You will NOT get spam from Blogger if you sign up, I promise.

Click the Create an Account button. Then follow the instructions to set up the account. Be sure you create a username that you will remember and is unique. It took a couple of tries for me to find one that the system would take. "Steve" was taken; "PDXsteve" was taken. But I finally found one that worked.

Write down all of the information, i.e., your username and your password so you won't forget it like I did.

Click on the Continue button.

Blogger then takes you to the real Blogger.com site where, up in the upper right hand corner, there's a "Sign into Blogger" link. Click on it and it will then allow you to sign in. Use your username and password you just created.

Voila, as the French say. You're in and you can start adding to the blog immediately.

Click on either the blog name, "The Harmon Family Blog" or on the "New Post" link and go for it.

If you need any help on how to add pictures, or anything else, let me know. You can write the info in the blog itself, leave comments on other people's entries, or write to any of the "members" by looking for their email addresses under the "Members" information site on the blog.
